I love Gmail ^[1] not just because it’s one of the best email services available, but also for the fact that there are several ^[2] new ^[3] lab features ^[4] which make it ever so useful and interesting. One such new Gmail Labs feature ^[5] is called Mail Goggles, which will stop you from sending those late night emails and hate mails, you so regret sending when you get back to being sober.

Sometimes I send messages I shouldn’t send. Like the time I told that girl I had a crush on her over text message. Or the time I sent that late night email to my ex-girlfriend that we should get back together. Gmail can’t always prevent you from sending messages you might later regret, but today we’re launching a new Labs feature I wrote called Mail Goggles which may help.

Once enable Mail Goggles will try to make sure if you really want to send the emails, by asking you to solve mathematical problems, to check to see if you are sober :-)

To enable Mail Goggle you will have to visit the Labs section in the Settings page. Once you have enabled it you can set the day and time when Mail Goggle should kick in and ask you those questions.

Definitely looks like a very useful service, do try it out and stop yourself from sending those emails you regret the next day you wake up.
