Gmail Chat Gets Video Preview Feature

has been adding a lot of features to , making it a real nice service to use, however Gmail Chat has been getting quite a few new features too, and the Google team has added another feature, where you can preview a video from YouTube or other providers without having to click through the URL in the message sent to you.

gmail_chat_video_preview

This feature had been earlier (Yahoo Messenger 9 features) added  to 9, and it definitely made sharing videos and pictures easier. However Yahoo 9 also had a feature where users could preview a image file and we are hoping to see that implemented in Gmail Chat too.

What do you think about the new feature? Do you use Gmail Chat often? Do let us know through your comments.

It’s a Google World and we’re just living in it. Lots of nice innovation going on there. I’m wondering when the backlash will it. They’ve been on top for awhile.

It is a Google world indeed! They are truly offering the best free email service at present, and they sure are not resting on their laurels. As far as IM goes, I use Skype and Facebook a lot lately. If you use gmail as your primary email service and it is open on your PC most of the time it would make sense to use the gmail IM service too.

Wow – that’s an awesome feature.
And I agree with Arc, no company will overtake Google in the near future

Nice feature, as one really doesn’t have the time or inclination to click through on all the stuff ending up in one’s inbox! Gmail is just going from strength to strength, and allied to their new offline capabilities is going to be a very hard act to follow, nevermind beat!

I must say this was pretty cool to see as a GMail integration, Ya knew it had to be coming and not a bad answer to Skype. Gawd knows I love Skype and have used it to connect sitting at anchor in the bahamas.
But for GMail to integrate Video Chat capabilities is not a surprising move. Just a kewl one.

Google are awesome, I have been using them for ages now and the features they come up with are gr8.

I do also wonder when they will fall, every company has their ups and downs.

Very interesting! I don’t use gchat that much since most of my friends use AIM instead, but it has some great features.
