Set your Frets on Fire!
This is not a game review. (Also, the title of this post is a wreck.) It’s more close to a game-recommendation than a review. If you like rock music, and you like playing the air-guitar, then you seriously need to download this awesome game this instant! Read on, if you still doubt me.
Frets on Fire is a free and open source guitar hero clone. Instead of the guitar controller, you use your keyboard as the guitar. The developers have executed this masterfully, as this early demo itself shows you:-
The game is cross-platform, with Windows, Mac and Linux versions accessible from the main page. Since the game is open source, it is highly moddable, with a developer-written modding guide and the ability to install a host of community-provided songs available from the wiki.

Contrary to what the picture shows, it is almost impossible for me to play with a keyboard.
And why is that, exactly? Laptop woes? :P
nah ..there are too many keys in the keyboard and i keep pressing the wrong one :p
