Vizio Launches Android Powered VIA Phone and VIA Tablet

LCD TV manufacturer Vizio today announced its Android powered VIA Phone and VIA Tablet. The Vizio smartphone features a 4 inch capacitive touch screen display with 5 megapixel camera, HD (720p) video recording and more. The Vizio tablet comes with an 8 inch capacitive touchscreen with 3 speakers for stereo audio in portrait or landscape mode and a front-facing camera for video chat. Both devices has a built-in IR blaster with universal remote control app for quick access to the entire home theater or nearly any other CE device in the home.

Both the VIA phone and tablet feature the highest performance coupled with innovative features that tie them into the media consumption experience. And by integrating the VIA Plus user experience also found on our next generation TVs and Blu-ray devices, VIZIO is delivering the multi-screen, unified ecosystem others have talked about for years and never delivered,said Matthew McRae, Chief Technology Officer at VIZIO.

The Vizio VIA Phone features a 4 inch high resolution capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity, GPS, MicroSD card slot, HDMI output with HD video playback, 5 megapixel rear camera, HD (720p) video resolution, front facing camera for video chats and so on.

The Vizio VIA Tablet comes with an 8 inch high-resolution capacitive touch screen display, 1 GHz processor, Wi-Fi, 3G connectivity, Bluetooth, GPS, MicroSD card slot for additional memory expansion, HDMI output, a front-facing camera and more. It also features a unique three-speaker design for stereo audio in both portrait and landscape modes.

Both the VIA Phone and VIA Tablet allows you to access more than 200,000 apps from the Android Market. Vizio will showcase these devices at the CES 2011.
