Toshiba Excite X10 Announced; World’s Thinnest 10-Inch Tablet
Last year, Toshiba launched its first tablet device, the Toshiba Thrive at the CES 2011. This year, Toshiba announced its latest tablet device, the Toshiba Excite X10 at the CES 2012. The Toshiba Excite X10 is currently the world’s thinnest 10-inch tablet. This tablet will ship with the Android 3.2 (Honeycomb) Operating System, but there is no need to worry, since the company has already promised the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update for this device. The iPad 2 is 8.8 mm thick, while the Transformer Prime is 8.3 mm thick. On the other hand, the powerful Toshiba Excite X10 measures just 7.7 mm thick.

Toshiba Excite X10 features 10.1 inch IPS display with 1280 x 800 pixels resolution, 1.2 Ghz dual-core OMAP 4430 processor, Android 3.2 Honeycomb OS (upgradable to Android 4.0 OS), 5 megapixel rear camera, 2 megapixel front-facing camera, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB/ 32 GB internal memory, DLNA capability, Wi-Fi 801.11 b/g/n, 3.5 mm headset jack, GPS, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR, Micro-HDMI, Micro-USB 2.0, microSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory and Toshiba’s SRS sound enhancement technology.
This device measures 7.7 mm and weighs just 1.2 pounds. The 16 GB version of Toshiba Excite X10 will be available for $530, while you can easily get the 32 GB version for $600. This tablet will be available from mid first quarter. Until then, check out the official pics below.
