Samsung to Launch a 10.1 inch Galaxy Tab 2 with Honeycomb at MWC?

Another day, another rumor. We already know that Samsung plans to launch the successor to the Galaxy S, as well as the successor to the Galaxy Tab, two of its most popular Android devices. Specifications of the Galaxy S have already leaked out ahead of the official announcement, but we still don’t know much about the Galaxy Tab 2. Until now, we were assuming that it would be a 7 inch tablet like the original Tab, but with much powerful hardware.

Now, Pocket-lint is reporting that the Galaxy Tab 2 will come with a 10.1 inch display, like the Motorola Xoom, which will be its biggest competitor. Despite having a bigger display, it will be both slimmer and lighter than both the Galaxy Tab and the Apple iPad. It will run Android 3.0 Honeycomb too, and will come with a dual core Qualcomm processor and an 8 MP primary camera.

If launched soon enough, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 should be able to thwart Motorola’s attempts to become the number one Android tablet manufacturer, and also present a viable option to the Apple iPad 2.

We don’t have any other details about the Galaxy Tab 2, but it will be unveiled at MWC soon, so stay tuned for more coverage.
