
Samsung recently announced the Android powered Samsung Galaxy Player (YP-GB1). It will compete with popular music players such as iPod Touch and Microsoft Zune. Galaxy Player has almost all the features of Galaxy S except the cellular connectivity. It comes with Android 2.2 (FroYo) OS and it will allow you to access more than 100,000 apps from the Android Market. This device will be showcased at the upcoming CES 2011.
Galaxy Player features a 4 inch Super Clear LCD display with 800 x 480 pixels resolution, 1GHz processor, Android 2.2 OS, 3.2 megapixel rear camera, HD (720p) video playback, VGA front facing camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, SoundAlive audio enhancing technology, T-DMB, microSD card slot, Android Market, Samsung App store, 1200mAh battery and more.
Samsung Galaxy Player will be available in three sizes – 8 GB, 16 GB and 32 GB. The price and availability of this handset is still unknown. Samsung is also expected to unveil two new entry-level Android PMPs like YP-G50 and YP-GB70. Stay tuned for more updates.
