Rumors suggest that the next generation electronic reader will be thinner than its predecessor, and faster as well. Engadget also reports that the next generation Amazon Kindle ^[1] will feature Wi-Fi as well.

Other new rumored feature includes improved contrast sensitivity for better text readability. Sadly, the next generation Amazon Kindle ^[1] is not expected to feature either touch screen or a color screen. The Amazon Kindle is facing tough competition from the Apple iPad ^[3].
