Nvidia ION has literally revolutionised the netbook segment. The Nvidia ION chipset which is still available in limited quantity is able to play Full-HD Videos which the Intel Chipsets are unable to do. Currently the Nvidia ION platform contains the 9400M and the MCP79 Chipsets. Currently the Nvidia 9400M has 16 shaders which provide a respectable performance on a netbook. If rumours are to be believed, the ION 2 will contain twice the shader currently present in the ION platform i.e. 16 Shaders *2=32 Shaders. Nvidia themselves has made no announcement regarding ION 2 but sources say that the successor of ION that is ION 2 is due by the end of 2009.
