Intel Launches Celeron E3200 And E3300
Intel today released 2 new ‘Celeron’ branded low-end dual core processors namely the E3200 and E3300. Both the processors run at 2.4 and 2.5GHz respectively and have double the L2 cache of their predecessor at 1mb. Both the processors are built using the 45nm fabrication process and have a front speed bus of 800Mhz similar to their predecessor. Both, the Intel E3200 and E3300 support virtualization which is very important if the owners of these processors decide to use Windows 7 and if they want to take advantage of the inbuilt virtualization technique provided by Windows 7.
Intel should have added support for virtualization to their low end processors long ago but better late than never. Intel also said that they will be marking the processors in such a manner that their compatibility with various motherboards can be easily identified.
