Intel E7300 which was released last year will soon be going out of production. Intel Core 2 Duo does not support virtualization which is very important now since Windows 7 [1] has an inbuilt feature to virtualises incompatible application and to run them under Windows XP right from inside Windows 7 [1]. There is very little price difference between Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 and Core 2 Duo E7400. Currently its definitely worth it to spend the extra bucks and get the E7400 as it supports virtualization.
Intel today said that from August it will only manufacture CPU’s which support Virtualization and will be stopping the production of all the CPU’s which don’t support Virtualization.
