The tablet arena is definitely heating up. After the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab, it looks like another Android tablet is entering the race. It’s the Archos 101 10.1 inch tablet which was unveiled way back in September, along with 4 other tablets. The Archos 101 is the biggest of the 5 and competes directly with the iPad.
It has a 10.1 inch capacitive touchscreen display and comes with a 1 GHz ARM Cortex A8 processor. It also offers USB and Bluetooth connectivity and a front facing camera. It is shipping with Android 2.1 Eclair, but will be upgraded to Android 2.2 Froyo. It doesn’t have access to the Android Market.
It is available in 2 variants – the 8 GB one for $299 and the 16 GB one for $349. It also supports microSD cards.
