The iTouch devices from Apple have been setting the sales chart on fire. Apple has already received more than 600,000 pre-orders for the iPhone in just a single day. The huge number of pre-orders forced Apple to push back the shipping date of the pre-orders to July, instead of June.
Now Apple has announced in a press release that they have managed to sell 3 million iPads in 80 days from its U.S. launch date. Currently, there are more than 11,000 applications available for the iPad in the App Store.
“People are loving iPad as it becomes a part of their daily lives,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “We’re working hard to get this magical product into the hands of even more people around the world, including those in nine more countries next month.”
Apple will launch the iPad in nine more countries in the upcoming month. I wonder how Apple will meet the demand for the device in these nine countries, with demand already exceeding supply by a huge margin.
