Apple iPad To Be Launched in 9 More Countries

Apple today announced in a press release that they will be launching the iPad in nine more countries this coming Friday. The nine countries include Austria, Belgium, Hong Kong, Ireland, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands,Apple iPad New Zealand, and Singapore. People residing in the above said countries can purchase the Apple iPad from July 23rd onwards at an Apple retail store.

As of now, the Apple iPad is available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, the U.K, and the U.S. The retail price of the iPad at the said countries varies from $499 for the 16 GB non-3G model to $829 for the 64 GB WI-Fi + 3G model.   Apple intends to launch the iPad in many more countries in the upcoming months. Apple will announce the availability of the iPad and the suggested retail price for these additional countries sometime in the future.

  • As it gets released in more countries I think the ipad will start to catch on more. It is interesting that Apple would choose to gradually release the ipad in different countries like this. Most manufacturers would simply release it worldwide all at once. Then again, Apple has some true marketing geniuses. So this is likely a move to keep them in the news and keep other countries eagerly awaiting the release.

  • I think it will be difficult for Apple to supply enough iPads. So far, there are very few devices in the same market as the iPad. So if Apple dominate the tablet-computer market early on it will be hard for competitors to penetrate the market.
