For those of us in the Northern hemisphere, Spring is in full swing and we’re all looking forward (with fingers crossed for good weather) to the summer. Now, I don’t know about you, but personally I have my iPhone with me everywhere I go and I reckon five apps in particular will be in use on my handset a lot over the summer months.
Spotify
Yes, yes… there is a subscription for Spotify. But the relatively low monthly fee means you can sync unlimited tunes to your phone. Whether you’re taking a long trip or just lounging outside in the sun, an unlimited supply of music is absolutely essential. There’s some awesome summer, upbeat music to be had!
Weather App
The iPhone’s default weather app does what it claims it will do perfectly! So I have never seen the need to download an alternative. Add the cities you’re interested in the five day forecast for, to make sure that if you’re planning a barbecue, a trip or an outdoor event, that the weather will be on your side.
Pollen Forecast UK
Granted, this is a UK app and many of you will be US readers. But there are bound to be equivalent apps for you. The company behind this is a manufacturer of hay fever tablets so it’s a clever ploy really. But if there’s one thing that isn’t pleasant during summer, it’s the hay fever. Pollen Forecast apps, (or which there are a lot and there will be one local to you, I’m sure) give you an idea of what to expect and how many antihistamines you might want to keep on you!
Easy Cocktails
There’s nothing better than sitting in the sunshine with a refreshing cocktail. And if you are low on inspiration on the cocktail from, this free application is just what you need! Split out into cocktails for the girls and cocktails for the guys, there’s loads of different recipes to try. Just what you need for a bit of inspiration…
My Vacation
At $2.99 ( £1.79 for UK users) this app isn’t the cheapest on the app store. But if you are planning a summer vacation it’s great! There is a lite version for those not convinced by the price tag just yet, as well. It lets you plan the activities on your trip, add photos, video and journal notes and share with the world!
So those are five apps I’ll be enjoying over the summer months. What about you guys? What are your favorites?
