XMBC media center updates to 9.11 Camelot

XMBC is a cross-platform, open source media center for Windows, Mac, Linux, Apple TV and related platforms. The developer team of this application has released XMBC 9.11, introducing a whole new look and feel.

Noteworthy changes include a revamped user interface via the new default skin Confluence, DirectX support by default for the Windows platform, a complete reorganization of the settings menus, automatic video information extraction, and smoother video playback and codecs have been updated for more reliable playback.

You can read the complete changelog on their blog, but some of the highlights include:

  • Better support for multi-monitor setups.
  • High Definition, Surround Sound, and Subtitle Flagging and Filtering in Video Library
  • Performance improvements to SQLite (database) queries
  • Ability to scrape and scan TV Shows into the video library by air-date via TheTVDB.com

    I had downloaded this new version last week. I’ve not gotten around to trying it yet. I’m an old time Boxie user, but this may be better. Thanks for the info and screenshots.
