Ubuntu Tweak is one of my favorite applications for Ubuntu. Recently they added PPA Purge and Reset Feature in Ubuntu Tweak which made it a must-have application for everyone.
Now they have added another new feature – Desktop Recovery. This feature takes a step beyond the Reset Feature by allowing users to back-up their desktop, applications and system settings. They can then revert back to their old settings later in case their tweaking goes wrong or if they simply want to have their old desktop back again.
Currently, this feature in beta and you need the Ubuntu Tweak Testing PPA to install it. So if you want to test it, open the terminal and execute the following commands:
(Note: It is available only for Ubuntu 9.10, 10.04 & 10.10.)
(Warning: This is a beta release. The software may have problems.)
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ubuntu-tweak-testing/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ubuntu-tweak
