If you have ever wanted to do more than just use Kubuntu or KDE in general, there is good news for you. Today the Kubuntu Team is organizing the Kubuntu Tutorials Day (Maverick). It will be held on the freenode IRC chat network in the #kubuntu-devel channel at 18:00UTC (or 23:30 IST).
The session will start off with Jonathan Riddell explaining the visions, aims and general status about Kubuntu 10.04 Maverick Meerkat. After that, Alan Alpert from Nokia, will teach how to work with Qt Quick and QML. To keep up with him, it is recommended that you install the latest Qt Quick from ftp://ftp.qt.nokia.com/qtcreator/snapshots/latest. Rohan Garg will explain how to package and maintain .deb files. There will also be talk from Johan Thelin about how to start coding in Qt and from Ralph Janke on how to track down bugs. In the end, there will be an open question session, where the Kubuntu Team will answers your questions.
So, if you love coding and want to help out, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
You can see the itinerary here.
To participate, you will need an IRC client. I recommend either XChat or Konversation. You can install them with the command:
sudo apt-get install xchat
sudo apt-get install konversation
