This is the second time in last few months that scammers are spreading false messages and sex tape of Nicki Minaj. Earlier they  had targeted the same celebrity in the scam Nicki Minaj Sex Tape – Exclusive!!! and are currently doing it with another fake message which says:

Nicki Minaj Gets caught On Tape (LEAKED Tape)

you will lost your all respect for NICKI MINAJ after watching this

The message links a user to a NSFW video which is supposedly hosted on a Blogspot site. However, clicking on the link will take the user to a page where they will be asked to share the URL in order to start playing the video.

Sharing the link will distribute the spam to your friends and you will not get to see any video. It is recommended that you DO NOT click on such links or scam messages on Facebook. If you come across this scam message, please delete/remove the scam from your Facebook news feed immediately. Alternately, you can report the scam to Facebook Security.

As a precautionary measure, always check which applications you use and remove unwanted or suspicious ones. Pinpointing The Search:

Every time you search for something that may have different interpretations, you are presented with a list of possible things that relate to the search. For instance, a search for the term Taj Mahal will now show Shahjahan’s monument, a musician whose stage name was Taj Mahal and even a casino likewise with a same name. Click any of those and links having matching keywords or relevant information will show up.

Summary and Related Information:

The search for the term Frank Lloyd Wright will now show a summary about the versatile architect with information such as date of birth, education, projects etc. In addition to these, Google will also show people and data that may be of importance or concern to the user. A similar search about Marie Curie, the Noble winning erudite, will portray her as a person and not just a search term, thus depicting her as a mother(name of children) and a wife(name of spouse) as well apart from showcasing her achievements in the field of radioactivity.

Delving Deeper:

The another side of search that intrigues a user apart from the information he/she was looking for is something that he/she found out of the blue. The new search is capable of doing that(as the press release publicizes). Web seemed great so far, however, at times the pool of information seems overwhelming. The new search feature will perhaps be better enjoyed for consuming information easily.

The Knowledge Graph was rumored to change the search experience altogether and with the official launch, the response so far from the media bigwigs are quite pleasant to summarize. The feature is yet to be available for all but will soon be rolled out globally. Since Google has already implemented social search with Google+ search integration, the new technology is expected to provide better results based on facts from knowledge bases like Wikipedia, Freebase or CIA World Factbook which with time will be augmented by the search habits and shared information not only by any user but his/her network as well. Although Google predicts Google+ to be the next step, the improvement to the core product is a welcome change. To put it in a line, “I’m feeling luckier”, are you?

In November 2011, a similar scam had spread targeting Rihanna where fake messages were spread saying You Will Hate Rihanna After Watching This Video!. The newer scam is similar and contains a NSFW video accompanied with the message:

The video in question takes you to a Blogspot page which looks very similar to Facebook and will ask you to install a DivX plugin which is a virus on your computer to view the video and will also share the same status automatically with your friends on Facbeook.

It is recommended that you DO NOT click on such links or scam messages on Facebook. If you come across this scam message, please delete/remove the scam from your Facebook news feed immediately. Alternately, you can report the scam to Facebook Security.

The message reads:

This site has been blocked as per instructions from Department of Telecom (DOT).

The reason for the ban is still unknown and users are flooding Twitter with tweets opposing the ban. If your ISP has blocked ISO Hunt, Pirate Bay or Extra Torrent for you, you might still be able to access those sites albeit using some workarounds.

If you are looking to access those websites, you can try out several of the proxies we had listed in our earlier article on how to access blocked websites. Additionally, you can also try out some other failsafe methods to access blocked websites.

Some of the blocks are DNS based (h/t @anantshri) . To overcome this issue you can try out services like Google DNS or Open DNS to access those websites. Read our earlier guide on How to use Google Public DNS on Windows 7 and Windows XP or use a Google DNS helper to automatically change to Google DNS.

You can also visit Pirate Bay using proxies which you can find at http://about.piratereverse.info/proxy/list.html and http://tpb.fl.ax/. You might also want to switch to magnet links if your tracker is being blocked. Learn more about what magnet links are.

Last but not the least you can also use Google’s site operator to search those sites directly without visiting them and then view the cached version of the page through Google search.

One of the problems I have faced with this extension though is the lack of support for whitelisting/blacklisting websites. However, FlashBlock does provide users with an option to do so through a right click option as seen above. The problem is that, though it is easy to unblock websites from FlashBlock, there is no easy way to block them again if you want to change your decision.

However, I did find a way to block unblocked sites in FlashBlock extension by using a simple trick. If you are someone who wants to do it, follow the steps given below.

To block a unblocked website in FlashBlock, open the website in question in Google Chrome and then click on the wrench icon and then select “Developer tools” from under the Tools menu. Alternatively, you can also use the shortcut key “Ctrl + Shift + I”

Doing the above steps will load the Chrome Developer interface. Now click on the “Resources” tab in the interface and expand the “Local Storage” dropdown. Now look for the exact URL of the website under the Local Storage menu and click on it. This will display the “Key-Value” pair of information stored for the website.

To block the website through FlashBlock again, look for the key “ujs_flashblock” and right click on it and select the “Delete” option from the menu. Once you have deleted the key, reload the website again and Flash will be blocked on it.

Though there are several other Flash blocking extensions which provide with an easier interface to manage whitelists and blacklists, the extension is question is one of the best out there and does not hog resources. Blocking a website again is a little hard, but it is a great tradeoff for performance it provides.

This latest beta version of Firefox is reported to support more devices than earlier, and it also boasts of performance improvements like faster scrolling, optimized memory usage and of course faster browsing! All in all, the once loathed Firefox for Android has managed to impressed everyone and frankly speaking, I too am sold!

Most of these performance improvements in the latest Firefox beta can be attributed to a new responsive UI, which is using the Android native UI instead of the earlier XUL based UI developed by Mozilla. The addition of a default Flash plugin in the latest beta received mixed reactions. Nonetheless, it is an item in the feature inventory. 9to5Mac now reports that Apple is planning to bring Retina displays to the MacBook Air too, with that upgrade being the most significant change for the next-generation line. The report also suggests that the chance of new MacBook Airs being announced at WWDC 2012 next month is unlikely. This is because Apple is still working to meet the Retina display’s power requirements within the MacBook Air’s thin form factor.

Once again, this is all speculation until Apple confirms so take it with a grain of salt.
