I think this is the right move for them. Now in order for people to stumble they will have to go to the main StumbleUpon page rather then simply using their already installed toolbar. This will mean many more pageviews/unique daily users to their main page, which, in turn, will mean more opportunity for sponsers/advertisements. Great move StubleUpon, this will surely do well for you gusy in the long run.

seems like a move in the right direction at least. the easier it is for persons not computer savvy, to use stumbleupon, the better. more people stumbling, more persons liable to view any one particular stumbled site.
