Twuffer – Twuffer was developed for anyone who has a need to schedule pre-written, post-dated tweets, you can use it for different purposes, like tweeting hourly/daily/monthly announcements, running time based contests and so on.

AutoTweeter A java based cross platform twitter desktop client that will allow you to schedule future tweets without using any external service.

Future Tweets Future Tweets is a free service that lets you schedule your Twitter messages. Send it at a specific time in the future or send a recurring tweet daily, weekly, monthly or yearly!

TwitRobot TwitRobot allows schedule your Twitter messages. Send status updates to Twitter even when your away from your phone or computer.

TwitResponse (our review) This is a service which we had reviewed in the past. TwitResponse allows you to schedule unlimited amount of tweets and send them out in the future, you can easily manage all your scheduled tweets and edit or delete them from your dashboard.

TweetLater TweetLater allows you to schedule tweets that will be sent out in the future. Pretty simple and easy to use.

TwitMessenger A new service that allows users to schedule tweets for the future.

    My favourite option is Su.pr from StumbleUpon. I had reviewed it couple of weeks back on my blog. It even shows a graph and suggets the best time for posting your tweets. And the best part is its integration with SU and the option to promote your other blog posts.

      All this is good but one should respect the twitter API limits and use these features judiciously. Your account may be termed as spwitt (read: spam twitter) in case you use these services very frequently

    I would add to your list Hootsuite.com that lets you schedule tweets to be sent in the future. It also incorporates tracking so you can see how many people open any links you sent. One of my favorites.

    I’ve tested only one app so far, Future Tweets, and right now, it’s not functioning properly. It looks like others are having problems via their site as well. At times I would rather pay for a service (minimally, of course) and get the fixes in a timely manner. Would love to get feedback from you on what works/doesn’t work.

    Rachael I agree with you completely. Twaitter is by far the best tool for scheduling tweets. I’ve tried all the ones mentioned in this article. I’m sure Keith would have mentioned it if he had seen it. He should revise the article with a comparison.

    I’m looking for a service that will allow me to save draft tweets without scheduling them for a future date. I know Socialoomph.com (formerly TweetLater) does it, but I don’t like the interface and was hoping one of these others did it as well. Does anyone know?

      HootSuite allows you to save drafts without scheduling a Tweet.

        I wouldn’t recommend Hootsuite, ive been using it for 3 years and are now looking for a new dashboard, its become unstable with its recent software upgrades – eg it doesn’t collect our data past 7 days any more, and speaking to the helpdesk is like dealing with an empty warehouse.

        Its fine while it works.

    The links for TwitRobot and TwitMessenger don't work.

    Twuffer looks simple to use, but nothing special.

    TwitResponse looks simple enough to use too but does not offer enough features.

    I didn't bother trying TweetLater which got bought out by SocialOomph and now is part of something that needs to be paid for if you want all the features.

    I tried out Twaitter per one of the other commenter's recommendation, which looks great and even better when the recurring feature is turned back on.

    Thanks for the suggestions. Apparently FutureTweets can no longer offer recurring tweets since it violates Twitter's TOS. Just thought I'd share that with y'all.
