The one thing every user might have experienced with Google Search is lightening fast search results, most of that is possible because of the excellent infrastructure that Google has in place.

However that may change, Google is working with some new search infrastructure which they have made available through to public as the Google Search Sandbox, that makes searching much more faster than it is currently, yes you heard it write the search results will show up much more faster.

The project termed as the next generation of Google search does not add visual features like their counterpart which uses more of graphics in their search results.

The most significant changes in both the version is speedier results and more indexed documents, as you can see from the image below.

New Search Results Timings

In many cases like the one above the search results are returned almost 4 times faster than current results, with an average of 2 1/2 times faster search results.

In addition to that there is a increase in the number of documents in the index, which may be irrelevant for quite a few people who seldom go beyond 10-20 pages while searching for keywords.

The results are definitely faster than they are with the current Google Search. Don’t believe us? Visit the Google Search Sandbox to try the new search for yourself :-) , in the meantime we will keep a eye on it to let you know if they come up with any exciting features.

More information about this can be found on the Google Webmaster Blog.
