Gmail Labs [1] has a unending list of features being added pretty frequently, the latest to come out of Google Labs is the ability to convert any email to a document and open a blank Google Docs document from Gmail [2] with the help of a keyboard shortcut.

This new feature will allow you to convert any email to a word document, this conversion will then be saved in your Google Docs [3] account. No more copying and pasting the text from your email, just open the message you wish to convert, click the "Create a document" link on the right side of the page, and voila, you have a brand new document which you can then modify and share.

In addition to converting a email to a document, you can also create a new document by using the keyboard shortcut, pressing g and then pressing w. Using this combination will open up a blank document in Google Docs.
To activate this new feature, go to the Google Labs tab under settings and select Enablenext to Create a documentand save the changes.
