However we just came across another must have PDF converter and printer freeware called doPDF which allows use to virtually convert any type of files to a PDF document.

doPDF installs itself as a virtual PDF printer driver, so after installation you will see doPDF in your list of Printers and Faxes. To convert a document to a PDF file, just give a regular print command and choose doPDF as your printer.

Once you choose doPDF as your printer, it will convert the document into a PDF file and automatically open it in your default PDF viewer.

  • 32-bit and 64-bit support – can be installed on both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows operating systems.
  • No GhostScript or .NET – doesn’t require 3rd party programs to do PDF files such as GhostScript or runtime environments like the .NET Framework. This makes the setup file to be incredibly small compared to other free PDF converters.
  • Customizable resolution – you can choose any resolution from 72 to 2400 dpi.

    PDF converters are brilliant tools. I have used one many times, the one I use is ad-supported. Now with this and the list of features you provided, I’ll try this one out. Thanks.

    Thank you! I have Adobe Writer at the office, but once I get home, I was stuck until I found http://www.youconvertit.com/ – you upload a file and they send you an email to get the PDF. It works well for those who don’t want to install anything :)
