Though Yahoo officially stopped distribution and development [1] of Yahoo Messenger for Vista, there is no reason why you should not try out the copy of Yahoo Messenger, which is quite suitablefor Windows Vista [2] based PCs.
Officially Yahoo shows you a message saying that the messenger has been discontinued:

But based on our experience, there have been no known bugs that should stop you from using it, except for the fact that it does not have webcam support.
