Though Yahoo officially stopped distribution and development of Yahoo Messenger for Vista, there is no reason why you should not try out the copy of Yahoo Messenger, which is “quite suitable” for Windows Vista based PCs.
Officially Yahoo shows you a message saying that the messenger has been discontinued:

But based on our experience, there have been no known bugs that should stop you from using it, except for the fact that it does not have webcam support.
So if you are looking to get a copy, here is the download link for the full installation we have of Yahoo Messenger for Vista, version 2008.01.11.428, which is also the “last” released version.

Same thing is with Linux, Yahoo IM is not available for Linux.
Hope so soon they will make it available.

Doesn’t work, still getting same error code as before (81003005)…grr I’m so frustrated! YM worked fine before the reformat….
