Google pagerank has been updated once again, disappointing us this time around with a PR drop from 5 to 4, well however this is a part of a webmasters life, seeing pagerank jump up and down.

Google has been known to change their logos to celebrate important events and festivals, and how could they miss St Patrick’s Day, the biggest Irish Festival.

Also taking this opportunity to wish all our Irish readers, and to whoever who celebrates this feast, a Happy St Patrick’s Day from Techie Buzz.

We have been religiously using Google Calendar to get SMS alerts for important events, using it as Desktop Calendar, synching events with Outlook and back and getting Google calendar event alerts in Firefox.

However the one missing feature in Google Calendar was the ability to access the events offline through a browser, but seems like   Google has finally made offline access to Google Calendar available to all users.

To activate the offline feature, click on the Offline beta link on the top of the page. However the features in this version is very limited and you can only browse already created events in offline mode, making it a read-only option, but you will definitely see more option in the coming future.

Note: You will have to download Google Gears first to get offline access to Google Calendar.

Amit from Digital Inspiration has shared a simple hack he came across to inflate the Feedburner subscriber count overnight, though it’s doable we do not think it’s ethical to fool the readers. We recently begin sharing our subscriber count on Techie Buzz and we can assure that it’s not gamed and has genuine followers.

Take a look at the video below on how one can game Feedburner count to bloat their feed count, we wonder how many people have used this to gain subscribers overnight. Remember the John Chow vs Shoemoney contest, foul play anyone?

Till Google and Feedburner fixes this issue, many people will definitely start doubting the feed count numbers, but like we said the count here at Techie Buzz is genuine  and the 1000s of readers can vouch for us.

Following up on our earlier post where we told you about SiteMeter crashing 1000s of websites including the most popular ones, we tried to visit the site again for updates on the issue and found the site to be down.

Too bad for a site that provides metrics to some of the most popular websites, we hope this would put some sense into users to use something like Google Analytics or Mint.

Just in the news that SiteMeter a popular analytics software has been crashing several popular blogs like Problogger, Consumerist, PerezHilton and thousands of other blogs using the Sitemeter as their analytics tool.

Sometime back we had told you how Google had decided to stop development and support of the popular plugin Google Browser Sync, many bloggers and users alike were disappointed about the decision.

Google on the other hand had other plans for the plugin as they have decided to make Google Browser Sync releasing the source code of the plugin on Google Code. Though that may sound good news to many we still have to worry about the server support that Google will stop providing at the end of the year, which may render the plugin useless with no server to store your data on.

We definitely hope to see a newer version of the plugin that is compatible with Firefox 3 now that the source code can be edited by anyone.
