After the Deadline is a Spell Checker with a difference. It is designed to improve your writing by utilising artificial intelligence and natural language processing technology. Some of the features which sets it apart from other spell checkers are:

• Detection of Misused Words: AtD claims that their database includes more than 1,500 commonly misused words and they can automatically detect and correct common contextual errors.
• Checks Style: AtD attempts to improve your writing by automatically identifying usage of passive voice, clichés, redundant phrases, unnecessarily complex words etc.

It was able to distinguish ‘knew’ from ‘new’ but failed to spot incorrect usage of ‘now’ (instead of ‘know’) and ‘hour’ (instead of ‘our’). The grammar checker worked better and was quickly able to spot incorrect usage of ‘its’ (instead of it’s) as well agreement of verb with the subject errors. Not only does AtD identify potential errors in your writing, it also offers detailed explanation so that you can learn from your mistakes.

However the default behavior many of us follow is to open the link in a background tab or window and read it later, this works fine if you have a few links to open and read, however most of the times we pile up several background tabs which we need to read.

Now there are two problems with this that tend to make you lose productivity.

1. At times, you tend to forget why you opened a tab in the first place while reading it.
2. At a later point of time while reading something you might not find that information relevant or useful at all, wasting both time and energy.

As a good practice, whenever you come across links try to open them in the foreground window or tab and read the information right away, this will help as you know what and why you are reading the information.

It is always better to devour information while you are thinking about it and get done with it, rather than put it on the backburner, of course at times if you find something very interesting, you can create a temporary bookmarks folder and read it at a later time.

This is how I tend to deal with content and information, it works out pretty well for me, however it might not work out well for many others, so it would be good to hear how you deal with devouring information?

Just came across another Firefox extension called Easy Comment that will help you fill out blog comments form by entering a prefilled name, email and web homepage address on blogging platforms like WordPress, Movable Type and Dotclear among others.

The add-on is basically similar to the Greasemonkey script, but this also provides users with a option to prefill the comments too.

To start using Easy Comment, click on the easyComment text in the status bar and fill up the information to prefill your comments, the comment setup will only have to be done one time, the next time you want to prefill comments, simply click on easyComment and it will do the needful.

Easy Comment may not work on certain blogs, which change the default parameters for the comments forms, however pretty useful if you comment a lot and want to save yourself sometime doing it.
