Step 1: Go to the file menu in IE8 and click on Import & Export Options.

Step 2: In the window that opens up, select Import from another browser and click on the next button.

Step 3: Select the browsers you want to import the favorites and bookmarks from and click on the Import button, you can choose from Firefox, Opera and Safari.

Step 4: Once everything has been imported to IE, you will see a message that the settings were imported successfully, click on the finish button.

Once you have followed the steps listed above, you will have access to the bookmarks and feeds from Firefox, Opera and Safari in Internet Explorer.

For example, while browsing you come across a webpage where you find interesting information, you decide to email this information to one of your friends, the steps you would normally perform are.

1. Copy the content or the URL of the page.
2. Open your email client or load a new tab to open your webmail service.
3. Compose a new mail and paste the content or URL into the message body.
4. Send the email message.

IE8 Accelerators aim to do away with the task of copying the content or URL and opening your email client or webmail provider, with the help of accelerators, you can quickly select and share a webpage in a single click.

You can use the accelerator feature by selecting content and clicking on the arrow link, or by right clicking on the page or a link and selecting the options from the All Accelerators menu.

You can easily manage all your Accelerators by right clicking and selecting manage accelerators from the All Accelerators menu, this will popup a window, which will display all the installed accelerators in IE8.

You can also download and install new accelerators from the IE8 Accelerator Gallery, where you can browse and choose from the available accelerators.

Click on the validate menu and select whichever option you want to validate, this will open a new browser window, which will validate the option you selected.

You can also validate local HTML and CSS files using the Developer Tools, in addition to validating multiple options at once.

To run a webpage in IE7 mode in IE8, open Tools –> Developer Tools or use the F12 key to launch developer tools for a open tab.

In the Developer Tools, click on the Browser Mode and select Internet Explorer 7 from the list, the webpage should now reload and behave like it would do in IE7.

Coming back to the post, IE8 includes a add-in called Developer Tools, which will allow you to analyze websites much more better than any other earlier versions of the browser.

The developer tools can be accessed by going to Tools –> Developer Tools or using the F12 shortcut key, once you have opened the developer tools, you can view the source code for the page, CSS used on the page, debug JavaScript code and profile the current webpage.

In addition to that there are a host of other features including controlling the cache for a page, validating HTML, validating CSS, validating feed, validating links and more.

However just wanted to point our on a feature we saw in IE8, where each tab is created as a individual process, just like Google Chrome does.

This is definitely a really nice feature, and will allow you to quickly eliminate tabs which taking to long to load, or slowing down the browser itself, though this may not be a new discovery, this is something that will make us like Internet Explorer 8 a little bit more.
