Previously, to activate the software, the user had to input a key file that he’d purchased. But now, following a method similar to that of Adobe and Norton products, users needed to input a string of numbers and get the license validated through the internet.

Incidentally, the WebTrickz blog has come up with a nifty trick that lets you use the old way of installing and activating a license through a key file. You need not knockout anything, or break into any freakish Windows registry. All that you’ll need to do is enter a beta key string (when disconnected), the setup will try to connect to a server and when it will fail, you’ll get an option to browse for a key file. Megavideo restricts users from watching videos for more than 72 minutes, this in itself does not make sense since if the video is 80 minutes long, you will have to spend an hour before you can watch the final 8 minutes of the video.

To get over the 72 minute limit enforced by Megavideo, follow the simple steps given below.

Step 1: Open the video page you want to watch on Megavideo and play the video, after a few seconds of playing, pause the video.

Pausing the video will ensure that the video will keep downloading to your local cache.

Step 2: Wait till the entire video has been downloaded to your cache, this may take some time, so wait till it reaches 100%.

Step 3: This is pretty simple, you can use a video cache viewer tool to extract the video from your browser cache and view it fully without the 72 minute restriction. Just search Google for the term given below and you will find the users who have added your tweets as favorites:

Update #2: Another comment by Nirmal suggests that you can only view the answers if you are visiting the site from Google Search, if you do not see the answer using the above method, copy the URL or title of the EE forum and search for it in Google, click on the EE link to view the answer using the above method, this should work 99.9% of the time.

Experts Exchange is one of the biggest forums on the internet, and many Google search results have links to experts exchange on the first page.

However Experts Exchange is not free and you will have to signup and pay to view the answers given by the Experts, this is pretty annoying considering there are several helpful forums out there.

There was a hack to view Experts Exchange answers by using the Google Cache URL for the page, however that trick no longer works anymore and users see a message as shown in the image below while trying to access the page using Google Cache.

Visiting the page regularly is of no help too, and you will see a message to register for a free 7 day trial, before you can view the solution to the problem.

Though the method is not straightforward and you will need to perform a hack uninstall of WMP 12. There are several steps you will need to follow to do this.

Step 1: Download Windows Media Player 11 Installer for Windows 7

Step 2: Type services.msc in Windows 7 search bar and open the services application.

Step 3: Find the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service and Stop it.

Step 4: You will need to take Ownership of several files which include:

1. All files in Program Files\Windows Media Player\ folder
2. All files starting with wmp in System32 folder
3. wmploc.dll.mui in Sytem32\en-us\ folder

Step 5: Run the Windows Media Player 11 Installer you had downloaded earlier.

Step 6: Type Regedit in Windows 7 search bar and open the registry editor application.

Step 7: Delete following Registry key

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Setup\Installed Versions

Step 8: Reboot your Windows 7 for the changes to take effect.
