However there are several mobile platforms including iPhone, Windows Mobile platform, Blackberry and Java and there are several applications available to take screenshots on these platforms.

Today Nokia has officially announced the Nokia 5800 Tube which could potentially be the real iPhone killer. The phone definitely has some killer looks outright and should definitely be more user friendly.

Nokia 5800 Tube Specifications

According to GSM Arena the phone will run on Symbian OS 9.5, Series 60 5th edition and will be released in the 4th Quarter of 2008 and will weigh 109 g. It will have a TFT touchscreen which will measure 360 x 640 pixels. The phone will has a internal memory of 16MB and supports up-to 16GB microSD memory card.

Nokia 5800 tube will have a proximity sensor for auto turn off, Accelerometer for auto rotates and support for handwriting recognition. The camera is a bit dampener in comparison to other Nokia smartphones and will be 3.15 MP, 2048×1536 pixels, Carl Zeiss optics, whereas a Nokia N95 has a 5MP camera.

The phone will support GPRS, EDGE and HSDPA (3G) networks, along with support for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. The phone also boasts of built-in GPS receiver along with built in Nokia Maps application. It also supports almost all types of video and audio files.

Why Term Nokia 5800 Tube A “iPhone Killer”?

So why are people terming the unreleased Nokia 5800 Tube a iPhone killer, well as far as we know Nokia has always been the world leader in mobile innovation and have always acknowledged competition by taking it one step further. Here is what Nokia CEO Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo had to say on the iPhone launch.

"We have a new, credible competitor in this business. You know I need to take my hat off," he said of how the iPhone has raised expectations for phones. He added: "Of course we need to be able to respond to any competitor and we will."

As you can see the CEO respected the innovation, but he also promised to come out with something better, I have been using Nokia phones for quite a few years now and can definitely say that it has been providing one of the best user experiences on non touch-phone devices, so rest assured I will be eagerly awaiting the release of Nokia 5800 tube.
