The back to school season is upon us once again, and more and more students are looking for ways to use their iPad for classes. We gather what we think are 5 of the best back to School apps for 2011.

Boxee, the company who makes the incredible popular open-source HTPC software, has released their official iPad app. It brings media streaming, social integration, and even Air Play to the Boxee eco system. It does not, however, include any of the fantastic Boxee apps.

Apple has released Lion Recovery Disk Assistant, which can be used to create an external Lion recovery partition. This will allow a user who can’t use the native Lion recovery partition to create a new, external one.

Cult of Mac is reporting that Apple is discontinuing the Magic Mouse in favor of the more Lion friendly Magic Trackpad. Both devices are currently available for $69 in Apple’s online store.

Twitter is rolling out a HTML 5 version of their website to iPad users around the globe. While not everyone has access to it, it is said to be headed to all users over the next week.

OS X Lion doesn’t currently offer a physical copy of the operating system, but it is easy to create your own. A French language app called Lion DiskMaker helps you do just that.
