Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini Leaked Pics And Specs Emerge

Samsung recently unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4. I’m sure most of you might be eagerly waiting to get your hands on this device. However, we have a new surprise for you. The guys at SamMobile recently spotted the leaked pics of the less powerful Galaxy S4 variant. Yes, you guessed it right! We are talking about the upcoming Galaxy S4 Mini. This handset looks strikingly similar to its big brother.

Unlike Galaxy S4, this handset will feature a slightly smaller 4.3 inch Super AMOLED qHD display with a pixel density of 256 ppi. Samsung has also packed a less powerful 1.6 GHz dual-core processor instead of the 1.6 GHz Exynos 5 Octa-Core processor. The complete specs of this device is still unknown.

The Galaxy S4 Mini will ship with the Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. As usual, this handset will be skinned with the Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 over Android. The Galaxy S4 Mini will be available in both single-SIM and dual-SIM variants. This handset is expected to launch during summer in June/July.

Verizon Motorola Droid 4 Gets The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Last year, Motorola launched the powerful Droid 4 smartphone exclusively for the Verizon Wireless subscribers in the US. This device features an amazing slide-out QWERTY keyboard along with a 4 inch qHD display, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and much more. However, the device was shipped with the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. As promised, Motorola has already rolled out the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) update during the Q3 of 2012.

After tasting the Ice Cream Sandwich, most of the Droid 4 users were eagerly waiting for the Jelly Bean update. Nearly 7 months after the last major update, Verizon has finally started rolling out the much-awaited Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the Droid 4 smartphone in the US.

This update comes with the usual Jelly Bean goodies such as Google Now, enhanced notification panel that displays missed calls and emails, voice search, smart keyboard and more. Check out the complete changelog below.

Samsung Launches The Galaxy Express Smartphone In Europe

Samsung recently launched the Android powered Galaxy Express smartphone in Europe. It is basically the same device which was unveiled last year for the AT&T subscribers in the US. Samsung Galaxy Express comes with the S Beam feature which allows you to easily touch and transfer your favorite movie or the latest songs just by touching another device. This handset will be shipped with the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. There are no major changes in the specs of this device.

Samsung Galaxy Express features a 4.5 inch WVGA Super AMOLED Plus display, sporting a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, TouchWiz UI, 5 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, HD (720p) video recording, full HD (1080p) video playback, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls and much more.

Ironically, the Galaxy Express comes with a price-tag of €489 (approx. $630), while the powerful Galaxy S III is available for around €410 (approx. $530). If you are planning to buy the Galaxy Express, then we would suggest you to give it a miss and get the cheaper yet powerful Galaxy S III.

Today, Samsung will finally unveil the much-awaited smartphone of the year, the Samsung Galaxy S IV. For the first time, Samsung will unveil its flagship smartphone at the New York’s iconic Radio City Music Hall and the event will be broadcast live at the Times Square. As the name suggest, Galaxy S IV is the successor of the highly popular Galaxy S III, which went on to sell more than 40 million units in just 8 months. Apart from that, Samsung has also managed to sell more than 100 million units of Galaxy S, Galaxy S II and Galaxy S III combined.

We have seen a number of leaked pics, specs and features of the upcoming Galaxy S IV. This handset looks strikingly similar to its predecessor. However, it is expected to comes with some powerful specs including a 4.99 inch Full-HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, 8-core Exynos Octa SoC, 13 megapixel rear camera with full HD (1080p) video recording, 2.1 megapixel front-facing camera, 2 GB RAM, 64 GB expandable memory, 4G LTE Connectivity and a 2600 mAh battery.

Apart from the powerful specs mentioned above, the Galaxy S IV will feature the latest verison of Samsung’s TouchWiz Nature UX along with the Eye-Tracking, Smart Pause, Floating Touch and a new lockscreen. Motorola Droid Razr And Razr Maxx Gets The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Last month, Motorola announced that the Verizon’s original Droid Razr and Droid Razr Maxx is scheduled to receive the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update by the end of this quarter. However, the manufacturer has started rolling out much sooner than expected. These handsets were originally shipped with the old Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) OS, which was later updated to the Android 4.0 in mid-2012.

Motorola is currently rolling out this update in batches. It might take some days for the update to reach your smartphone. The latest update is numbered 98.72.16.XT912 and it brings smart keyboard, Google Now, improved voice search, enhanced notifications, improved voice and data connectivity and much more. Sony Xperia Z Launched In India For Rs.38,990

Earlier this year, Sony introduced its flagship smartphone, the Xperia Z at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas. Today, the Japanese mobile phone manufacturer finally launched this powerful handset in India. Sony Xperia Z is a water and dust resistant smartphone with a durable glass display. It comes with an unique Battery Stamina Mode which improves the standby time by four times by automatically shutting down battery-draining apps whenever the screen is off.

Vodafone subscribers will get 8 GB of free 3G data for 2 month with this handset. The manufacturer also offers ‘Sony Jive Music’ which allows you to download and stream music from the Sony Music catalog for 6 months.

Verizon Rolling Out Android 4.1.2 Update For The Galaxy S III

Samsung has already rolled out the Android 4.1.2 update for the international variant of the Galaxy S III. Sadly, most of the carrier locked variant of Galaxy S III in the US has not yet received this update. Sprint was the first carrier to roll out this update. Now, Verizon Wireless has finally joined the bandwagon. The big red carrier has recently posted the complete changelog and it reveals a number of enhancements and bug fixes.   • Keyboard Predictive Text feature has been improved
  • User can take pictures while on a call
  • Manual refresh button has been added to lock screen stock ticker
  • Email syncing has been improved
  • Bluetooth performance has been improved

Sadly, this update does not bring the Samsung’s much-awaited Premium Suite to the Verizon’s Galaxy S III. The Premium Suite includes Smart Stay, Multi-Window multi-tasking, updated gallery app, Pop-Up Play, Direct Call and Page Buddy which was first seen in the Galaxy Note 2, followed by the international variant of Galaxy S III. Samsung Announces The Galaxy Note 510 (Note 8.0) In India

Today, Samsung announced the new Samsung Galaxy Note 510 at the Samsung Forum event in Hyderabad. Don’t get confused with the name of this device. Galaxy Note 510 is nothing but the same Galaxy Note 8.0 which was unveiled earlier this week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. Samsung India has a long history of launching Android tablets in India with different names. Last year, the Galaxy Note 10.1 was introduced as Galaxy Note 800 in the Indian market.

As the name suggests, Galaxy Note (510) 8.0 comes with an 8 inch display and the innovative S-Pen. This device runs on the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. There are no major changes in the Indian variant of the Galaxy Note 8.0. Samsung has also pre-loaded the upgraded ChatOn, Awesome Note, Flipboard and Smart Remote on this device.

Samsung Galaxy Note 510 (Note 8.0) features a 7 inch WXGA display, sporting a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, 1.6 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System, Samsung TouchWiz UI, 5 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calls and more.

Other features include a 3.5 mm headset jack, Music player with SoundAlive, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 801.11 a/b/g/n, 3G Connectivity, Samsung Apps, Games Hub, Readers Hub, Samsung Kies, A-GPS + GLONASS, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB/ 32 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 64 GB expandable memory and a 4600 mAh battery.

Sony Xperia Z is the company’s flagship device. This stunning handset was announced last month at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2013 in Las Vegas. Apart from its powerful specs, the Xperia Z is also a water and dust resistant smartphone with a durable glass display.

The Sony Xperia Z was expected to launch on March 1, 2013 in the UK. However, the device went on sale one day earlier at major retailers and wireless carriers. You can get the carrier locked Xperia Z on contract from Three, O2 and Orange. On the other hand, the unlocked Xperia Z can be purchased from Phones 4U, Expansys, Clove and Unlocked Mobiles. LG Optimus Vu II Gets The Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Update

Last year, LG launched the Optimus Vu II in South Korea. As the name suggests, this device is the successor of the company’s first phablet, the LG Optimus Vu. It comes with a 5 inch display, 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and much more. Sadly, this device was shipped with the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System.

Nearly 6 months after its official launch, LG has finally started rolling out the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) update for the LG Optimus Vu II. This update is currently available only for SK Telecom and KT subscribers in South Korea. LG U+ users will get this update starting from next month.

Asus Memo Pad ME172V Launched In India For Rs.9,999

Last month, Asus introduced the entry-level Memo Pad ME172V tablet. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched the same tablet in India. This device looks strikingly similar to the extremely popular Asus Google Nexus 7. However, the specs of Asus Memo Pad is not on a par with the Nexus 7. This tablet runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage and packs a MircoSD card slot for those who want to store movies, music and large eBooks.

The Acer Iconia B1 has a powerful dual-core processor, however the Asus Memo Pad comes with 1 GB of RAM and a better battery life.

Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE Goes On Sale At Virgin Mobile For $299.99

Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is not a new smartphone for the folks living in the US. This handset was launched last year for the Sprint subscribers. Now, Virgin Mobile has introduced this Android powered smartphone for its no-contract customers. Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is Virgin Mobile’s first LTE device. This handset is shipped with the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System.

Mark Lederman, Director, Virgin Mobile USA, said,
“With the phones customers want, unlimited data and messaging included on all plans, and now 4G LTE capable devices, we continue to provoke customers to ask themselves why they haven’t switched from postpaid to a better deal with Virgin Mobile.”

However, you will need to subscribe to the Virgin Mobile’s No-Contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans which start at $35 per month. This handset is currently available at Virgin Mobile’s official site and it will be available in retail outlets from next month.

BlackBerry Z10 Launched In India For Rs.43,490

Last month, BlackBerry unveiled the new BlackBerry 10 Operating System and introduced two new smartphones — the full touchscreen BlackBerry Z10 and QWERTY + touchscreen BlackBerry Q10. Today, BlackBerry finally launched the much-awaited BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in India. This is definitely a great news for all the BlackBerry fans in India, who were eagerly waiting for the launch of BlackBerry’s next generation of smartphones.

Samsung Finally Unveils The Galaxy Note 8.0

It was already rumored that, Samsung might announce an 8 inch tablet to compete with the Apple’s iPad Mini. The rumors turned out to be true. Samsung has finally unveiled the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8.0 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. This device runs on the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It also comes with the S-Pen, which was previously bundled with Galaxy Note 10.1. Removing S-Pen from the device will automatically launch innovative features such as Pen Detection that will suggest adapted menus.

Nokia Lumia 720 And Lumia 520 Press Shots Leaked

Last year, Nokia launched three Windows Phone 8 powered smartphones — the entry-level Lumia 620, the mid-range Lumia 820 and the high-end Lumia 920. This week, the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer is expected to launch two new devices — the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona.

As the name suggest, the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are the successor of the last generation Lumia 510 and Lumia 710 smartphones. @evleaks, which is popularly known for tweeting the leaked press shots and specs of the upcoming smartphones is back with the leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520. The image shown below is the press shot of Lumia 720, while the image posted below is the Lumia 520.

Nokia has codenamed the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 as Flame and Zeal respectively. The specs of these devices are currently unknown. Both of these devices will run on the newer Windows Phone 8 Operating System. The designs of Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are strikingly similar to what we have previously seen with the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. We also know that these devices will be launched with a number of vibrant colors. If these rumors are true, there won’t be much surprise for Nokia fans at the Mobile World Congress 2013.
