Samsung Sells 2 Million Units Of Galaxy S In South Korea

The Android powered Samsung Galaxy S is already a huge hit worldwide. Apple sold 1.8 million units of iPhone (3GS + iPhone4) in South Korea from its first launch in November 2009. On the other hand, Samsung just announced that, the company managed to sell 2 million units of its popular smartphone, Galaxy S in just 6 month. The manufacturer already sold 9.3 million units of Galaxy S worldwide.

Galaxy S is quite popular in its home country, since it is the first smartphone to reach the 2 million milestone in South Korea. Samsung is expected to sell 10 million Galaxy S by the end of this year. Galaxy S will be the first Android device to cross the milestone of 10 million units worldwide.

Samsung’s first Android powered tablet, Galaxy Tab and its very own BADA OS powered Wave is also a huge hit. Samsung recently launched the second Google branded smartphone, Nexus S. Next year, Samsung will launch the Bada OS 2.0 with NFC (Near Field Communication) and Updated UI.

Samsung Intercept Gets The Android 2.2 Froyo Update On Sprint

Sprint announced that it will begin rolling out the much awaited Android 2.2 (FroYo) update for its entry-level smartphone, Samsung Intercept. This handset is also available on the airwaves of Virgin Mobile in the US, but the Android 2.2 update is currently available only for Sprint customers. Reliance Launches 3G Services In India

Last month we posted that Reliance Communications was expected launch its 3G services in India before the end of 2010 and now the company has finally launched its 3G services in 4 circles. Reliance has grabbed 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, North East, Jammu & Kashmir, Orissa and Assam, out of which they have started 3G services only in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chandigarh (Punjab) circle.

Samsung recently announced a special edition of its popular tablet, the Samsung Galaxy Tab Luxury Edition at the Millionaire Fair. The specs of this device is similar to the original Galaxy Tab. The Galaxy Tab Luxury Edition features a special leather case and a Bluetooth headset.
