T-Mobile UK To Roll Out Motorola Defy Android 2.2 Froyo Update In July

Last year, Motorola launched its powerful Android powered rugged smartphone, the Motorola Defy. This handset is pretty amazing, but it originally runs on the old Android 2.1 (Eclair) Operating System. Motorola and AT&T have already started rolling out the Android 2.2 Froyo update in the US, but the Motorola Defy customers in the UK were left behind.

T-Mobile UK recently tweeted from their official Twitter account that, the Android 2.2 Froyo update for Motorola Defy will start rolling out to the T-mobile UK customer at the the beginning of July. The update is expected to be available within the first half of July, to almost all the T-Mobile Motorola Defy owners. The Android Froyo update will be available via. Over-The-Air (OTA).

The new software update comes with a new revamped User Interface, new Task manager app, Wi-Fi Hotspot capability, Linked-In account integration, Adobe Flash support, ability to store the applications on the device’s microSD card, added security features, including Exchange-based encryption and password security.

It is advised to backup all your data before updating the device. You should also have at least 50% charged battery in your phone and an active SIM card installed before updating to Android 2.2. We will let you know, as soon as the update is available for the Motorola Defy in the UK. Stay tuned!

Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray Coming Soon To Three UK

Earlier this week, Sony Ericsson announced the amazing Xperia Ray at the CommunicAsia 2011 in Singapore. This handset runs on the latest Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System. This handset allows you to access more than 200,000 apps from the Android Market. Three UK has recently announced that, the Sony Ericsson Xperia Ray will be exclusively available to Three’s customers in the UK.

Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three said, The Sony Ericsson Xperia ray, with the latest in Android software, is an excellent addition to the Three smartphone range. The sleekly designed and technology-laden device will appeal to people who not only want a great looking handset but also the most up-to-date in terms of technology.

Apple iPhone 3GS 8GB Now Available In India For Rs.19,990

Yes, you heard it right! Apple have recently released the 8 GB iPhone 3GS in India. The 8GB version of this handset was originally launched in India during April 2010, along with the 16 GB and 32 GB version. The iPhone 3GS were available exclusively for the Airtel and Vodafone customers in India. But, the new 8 GB version of the iPhone 3GS is unlocked and it can be used with SIM card of any GSM operator.

AT&T To Launch HTC ChaCha Facebook Phone As HTC Status

Earlier this year, HTC announced the Facebook-centric HTC ChaCha phone at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. The HTC ChaCha is the first Android smartphone with one-touch Facebook access. HTC ChaCha allows you to update your status, upload a photo, share a website or check in’ to a location, with a single press of the button.

Last week, the guys at PocketNow posted a leaked press shot of the new HTC ChaCha phone with the AT&T logo and a sightly different Facebook button. This clearly pointed us that, the HTC ChaCha phone will be soon available to the AT&T customers in the US. Now, the folks over at BGR claims that, the AT&T’s HTC ChaCha phone will be called as the HTC Status in the US.

LG Thrill 4G Coming To AT&T This Summer

LG Thrill 4G allows you to directly upload your 3D videos to the YouTube 3D channel from your handset. AT&T recently confirmed that, the much-awaited LG Thrill 4G will arrive in stores this summer. Motorola Xoom Up For Pre-Order In India

Last week, Motorola announced its first tablet device, the Motorola Xoom in India. This device was first showcased at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas. The Motorola Xoom is the first tablet device to feature the Google’s Android Honeycomb Operating System, which is specially designed for tablet devices.

Flipkart, a popular online retailer is currently taking the pre-orders for the Motorola Xoom tablet in India. You can pre-order the WiFi-only version as well as the WiFi + 3G version of the Motorola Xoom at Flipkart. This handset will compete with the recently launched BlackBerry Playbook and the Apple iPad 2 in India. RIM Launches The BlackBerry PlayBook In India

Research in Motion (RIM) recently launched the much-awaited BlackBerry Playbook at an event in Mumbai, India. The BlackBerry PlayBook is the company’s first tablet device which was announced last year and it was showcased at CES 2011 in Las Vegas and MWC 2011 in Barcelona. This device comes with a 7 inch multi-touch capacitive screen LCD display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 5 megapixel rear camera with full HD (1080p) video recording, 1GB RAM and so on. The BlackBerry PlayBook runs on the BlackBerry Tablet OS.

Nokia C2-02 Touch And Type Phone Announced

nokia c2 02Nokia today announced the entry level Nokia C2-02 phone with the Touch and Type technology. This handset comes with a touchscreen display as well as physical slide-out T9 keypad. This specs of this handset is basically the same compared to the recently announced Nokia C2-03 device, except the Dual-SIM functionality. Check out the complete specs below.

Nokia C2-02 will be available in 2 colors – Chrome Black and Golden White. This handset comes with a price tag of EUR 75 (approx. $105/ Rs. 5,000). Nokia C2-02 is expected to hit the market in the third quarter of 2011.
