Nokia X7 Up For Pre-Order In India For Rs.21,999

Nokia X7 is the company’s latest gaming and multimedia smartphone, which runs on the Symbian Anna Operating System. This handset was announced in April along with the Nokia E6 business phone. The Nokia E6 is already available for pre-order from last week. Now, the much-awaited Nokia X7 has been made available for pre-order in India.

Nokia X2-01 Firmware Updated To Version 08.63

Nokia recently released a new firmware update for its popular QWERTY phone, the Nokia X2-01. The new version is numbered 08.63 and it comes with minor bug fixes and improves reliability of your phone. You can be easily download from the Nokia Software Update (NSU) or via Over-The-Air (OTA). Motorola Launches The Xoom Android Honeycomb Tablet In India

Motorola finally launched its Android powered Motorola Xoom tablet in India. This device was announced at the CES 2010 in Las Vegas and it was later showcased at MWC 2011 in Barcelona. Motorola Xoom is the first tablet, which runs on the Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) Operating System. Motorola is selling both the Wi-Fi only version as well as the Wi-Fi + 3G version of this tablet in India.

Over 500,000 Android Devices Activated Per Day

We have a good news for the Android fanboys as well as Android smartphone and tablet users. Google’s Andy Rubin recently tweeted that, more than 500,000 Android devices are being activated each day and the rate is growing at 4 percent week over week. Back in August, he said that 200,000 Android devices are being activated everyday and after 4 months the number was increased to 300,000.

Last month, Google announced at the Google I/O that, the company is activating over 400,000 Android devices each day. And now, within a month the number of devices being activated jumped to 500,000. Andy Rubin’s tweet says,

Last month, Google also announced that, there have been 100 million Android activations. Currently, there are more than 310 Android devices in 112 countries with 36 OEMS, 215 Carriers and 450,000 Android developers. Even the Android Market now has more than 200,000 free and paid apps.

500,000 Android devices are activated each day, which means that nearly 350 Android devices are activated per minute, 3.5 million devices each week, 15 million devices every month and about 180 million per year. Airtel Launches The International Video Calling Services In India

Earlier this year, Airtel launched its 3G services in India. Airtel 3G comes with the video calling, Mobile TV, video streaming, music download and many more services. The company recently launched the international video calling services in India. This service allows you to make international video calls and interact face-to-face with your friends and families living abroad.

Airtel has won 3G license for 13 telecom circles in India Mumbai, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Uttar Pradesh (West), Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, North East, Jammu & Kashmir. This service is available only for 3G customers living in these telecom circles. You will be charged 5 paisa per second for video calls to any number in India, but you will have to pay Rs. 14/min, for international video calls to USA, Canada, Bangladesh and other countries.

Airtel’s International Video Calling is currently available in 227 international geographies. You can make international video calls, only if your friends and relatives are on a 3G network and using a smartphone with front-facing camera. International video calls to UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Oman will be charged at Rs. 20 per minute.

Nokia N5 Leaked Pics Emerge

The guys at Excellular, recently posted some leaked pics of the Nokia’s upcoming low-end handset, the Nokia N5. This handset comes under the Nokia’s N-series range of phones and it sports a touchscreen display as well as 3 hardware buttons on the front. This handset looks quite similar to the Nokia 5233 smartphone with slight changes on the corner.

This handset will be available in 2 colors – While and Black. The complete specs of this handset is not available yet. The Nokia N5 runs on the latest Symbian Anna Operating System and it has a 3.2 inch touchscreen display as well as a 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, front-facing camera for video calls and a large loudspeaker below the camera. This handset also has a volume rocker and a dedicated camera button on the right side.

According to the guys at Excellular, Nokia will launch the N6 and N7 smartphone, soon after the launch of Nokia N5. The Nokia N6 and N7 is expected to come with a larger display and high resolution camera as compared to the Nokia N5 smartphone. HTC Flyer Launched In India For Rs.39,890

HTC recently launched its much-awaited tablet, the HTC Flyer in India. This device was already available for pre-order at Flipkart, but today, the company officially launched the tablet in India. HTC Flyer was announced at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2011 in Barcelona. After waiting for nearly 4 months, the tablet is finally available for purchase in India.

HTC Flyer runs on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) Operating System instead of the Android 3.0 Honeycomb OS, which is specially designed for tablet devices. But the company is expected to roll out the Android Honeycomb update for the HTC Flyer, shortly after launch.

Twitter For BlackBerry Gets An Update; Brings Lighter Color Scheme

The Twitter app team at Research In Motion (RIM) recently released a new version of the Twitter for BlackBerry app. The new version is numbered 2.0.0.15 and it is currently available at BlackBerry Beta Zone in selected countries. The latest version of Twitter for BlackBerry comes with many changes such as lighter color scheme, new Compose Tweetbar, trending topics with local trends support and much more.
