Asus Memo Pad ME172V Launched In India For Rs.9,999

Last month, Asus introduced the entry-level Memo Pad ME172V tablet. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer launched the same tablet in India. This device looks strikingly similar to the extremely popular Asus Google Nexus 7. However, the specs of Asus Memo Pad is not on a par with the Nexus 7. This tablet runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It comes with 8 GB of internal storage and packs a MircoSD card slot for those who want to store movies, music and large eBooks.

Asus Memo Pad ME172V features a 7 inch display, sporting a resolution of 600 x 1024 pixels, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, 1 GHz single-core VIA WM8950 processor, Mali-400 GPU, 1 megapixel front-facing camera for video calls, 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, microUSB 2.0 and a 4270 mAh non-removable battery. This device measures 196.2 x 119.2 x 11.2 mm and weighs 370 grams.

Asus Memo Pad ME172V comes with a price tag of just Rs.9,999 (approx. $185). This device will compete with the Acer Iconia B1 and other entry-level Android tablets in the Indian market. The Acer Iconia B1 has a powerful dual-core processor, however the Asus Memo Pad comes with 1 GB of RAM and a better battery life.

Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE Goes On Sale At Virgin Mobile For $299.99

Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is not a new smartphone for the folks living in the US. This handset was launched last year for the Sprint subscribers. Now, Virgin Mobile has introduced this Android powered smartphone for its no-contract customers. Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE is Virgin Mobile’s first LTE device. This handset is shipped with the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System.

Mark Lederman, Director, Virgin Mobile USA, said,
“With the phones customers want, unlimited data and messaging included on all plans, and now 4G LTE capable devices, we continue to provoke customers to ask themselves why they haven’t switched from postpaid to a better deal with Virgin Mobile.”

Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE features a 4 inch touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels, 1.2 GHz dual-core processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, TouchWiz UI, 5 megapixel rear camera with auto-focus and LED flash, 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera for video chat, 1 GB RAM, 4 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory and so on.

It also comes with a 3.5 mm headset jack, FM Radio with RDS, DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance), Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, 4G LTE Connectivity, GPS with A-GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Samsung Hub, Google Play Store, NFC (Near Field Communication), Samsung Media Hub, Android Beam, 3G/4G LTE mobile hotspot capability, up to 9 hours of talk-time and a 2100 mAh battery. This handset measures 121.9 mm x 63.5 mm x 12.7 mm and weighs 138.9 grams.

Virgin Mobile subscribers can get the Samsung Galaxy Victory 4G LTE for $299.99 without any service agreement. However, you will need to subscribe to the Virgin Mobile’s No-Contract Beyond Talk unlimited data and messaging plans which start at $35 per month. This handset is currently available at Virgin Mobile’s official site and it will be available in retail outlets from next month.

BlackBerry Z10 Launched In India For Rs.43,490

Last month, BlackBerry unveiled the new BlackBerry 10 Operating System and introduced two new smartphones — the full touchscreen BlackBerry Z10 and QWERTY + touchscreen BlackBerry Q10. Today, BlackBerry finally launched the much-awaited BlackBerry Z10 smartphone in India. Samsung Finally Unveils The Galaxy Note 8.0

It was already rumored that, Samsung might announce an 8 inch tablet to compete with the Apple’s iPad Mini. The rumors turned out to be true. Samsung has finally unveiled the much-awaited Galaxy Note 8.0 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. This device runs on the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. It also comes with the S-Pen, which was previously bundled with Galaxy Note 10.1. Removing S-Pen from the device will automatically launch innovative features such as Pen Detection that will suggest adapted menus.

Nokia Lumia 720 And Lumia 520 Press Shots Leaked

Last year, Nokia launched three Windows Phone 8 powered smartphones — the entry-level Lumia 620, the mid-range Lumia 820 and the high-end Lumia 920. This week, the Finnish mobile phone manufacturer is expected to launch two new devices — the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona.

As the name suggest, the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are the successor of the last generation Lumia 510 and Lumia 710 smartphones. @evleaks, which is popularly known for tweeting the leaked press shots and specs of the upcoming smartphones is back with the leaked images of the Nokia Lumia 720 and Lumia 520. The image shown below is the press shot of Lumia 720, while the image posted below is the Lumia 520.

Nokia has codenamed the Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 as Flame and Zeal respectively. The specs of these devices are currently unknown. However, the Lumia 720 is expected to come with a 4.3 inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM, and 8 GB internal storage, while the Lumia 520 is expected to pack a 4 inch display, 1 GHz dual-core processor, 512 MB RAM, 5-megapixel camera, 4 GB internal storage and much more.

Both of these devices will run on the newer Windows Phone 8 Operating System. The designs of Lumia 520 and Lumia 720 are strikingly similar to what we have previously seen with the Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. We also know that these devices will be launched with a number of vibrant colors. If these rumors are true, there won’t be much surprise for Nokia fans at the Mobile World Congress 2013.

LG Optimus G Goes On Sale In Europe; Coming To India This Week

Last year, LG unveiled the powerful Optimus G smartphone. This handset was expected to launch in Europe during the Q1 of 2013. Now, the much-awaited Optimus G is finally available for purchase in most of the countries across Europe. This handset was launched with the old Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) OS, however, the manufacturer is shipping the device in Europe with the newer Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System.

Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said,

LG Optimus F5 And Optimus F7 Announced; Comes With Android 4.1, 4G LTE

Last week, LG unveiled 3 new smartphones – Optimus L3 II, Optimus L5 II and Optimus L7 II. After a couple of days, LG announced the powerful Optimus G Pro in its home country. Now, the South Korean mobile phone manufacturer went ahead and unveiled two smarphone under the new F series – the Optimus F5 and Optimus F7.

According to the manufacturer, the Optimus F Series is designed to bring a premium user experience and the speed of 4G LTE to a mass audience. Thankfully, both of these devices are packed with a powerful battery and pretty decent specs. LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 will be shipped with the Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) Operating System out of the box.

LG Optimus F5 and Optimus F7 comes with the upgraded QSlide, which allows users to open two apps at the same time, both in full screen mode. Users can change the size, position and transparency of QSlide apps according to their preferences. The worldwide rollout of the Optimus F5 will begin in the second quarter in Europe, followed by the Optimus F7 in selected markets. Acer Announces The Entry Level Liquid Z2 Smartphone

Next week, major mobile phone manufacturer’s will unveil their latest smartphones and tablets at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2013 in Barcelona. However, that didn’t stop manufacturer’s like HTC and LG to announce their smartphones days before the event. Acer has just became the third company to join this bandwagon.

Acer recently unveiled the entry-level Liquid Z2 smartphone. This handset runs on the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Opeating System and it packs some basic specs including a 3.5 inch display, 1 GHz processor and more. The in-built 5 megapixel camera launches in just 1 second and offers panoramic and multi-angle modes along with continuous shooting (up to 99 shots). This handset will be showcased next week at the MWC 2013.

Acer Liquid Z2 features a 3.5 inch HVGA touchscreen display, sporting a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels, 1 GHz single-core processor, Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS, Dual-SIM capabilities, Acer Breeze UI, 3 megapixel or 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus and LED flash, geo-tagging, Wi-Fi 801.11 b/g/n, 3G Connectivity and so on.

The Acer Liquid Z2 will go on sale in France, Belgium, Netherlands and Ukraine followed by Russia, UK and Italy in the coming days. Kyocera recently launched a new entry-level smartphone, the Kyocera Event. This handset runs on the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) Operating System, however, it may or may not be upgraded to the newer Android 4.1 OS. The Kyocera Event is exclusively available for Virgin Mobile subscribers without any contract. This handset is specially targeted for those who are planning to jump from feature phones to smartphones. Check out the complete specs below.

Virgin Mobile USA is currently selling the black version of Kyocera Event for $79.99 without any service agreement. A red version of the phone will be available exclusively at RadioShack from March 3, 2013.

Samsung Announces WiFi-Only Galaxy Camera

Last year, Samsung launched its first Android powered digital camera. This device offers various connectivity options including 3G as well as 4G LTE in select markets. The Samsung Galaxy Camera was shipped with the newer Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) Operating System. Today, Samsung went ahead and announced the new WiFi-only Galaxy Camera.

As the name suggest, the latest variant of Galaxy Camera won’t pack a cellular radio. You will need to find a stable Wi-Fi connection before uploading your photos to Facebook, Instagram and other social networking sites. Apart from that, there are no major changes in the specs of this device.

Samsung Galaxy Camera features a large 4.8 inch HD SLCD display, 1.4 GHz quad-core processor, Android 4.1.2 (Jelly Bean) OS, 16-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 21x zoom lens, Full HD (1080p) video recording and playback, GPS with A-GPS, HDMI, 8 GB internal memory, MicroSD card slot, 32 GB expandable memory, Google Play Store, Samsung Hub, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and a 1650mAh battery.

Samsung has not yet announced the price of this device. However, the price is expected to be much lower than the previously launched Galaxy Camera with 3G/4G connectivity. This handset will go on sale in the coming weeks.
