AutoPager Automatically Loads The Next Webpage Inline

One thing I don’t like while googling is loading page after page to get next results. Even though there is an option to extend the search results up to 100, sometimes we would like to go further down while making a deep search.

Recently, when I was browsing, I found an amazing addon for Firefox that can help you to load the next pages of search automatically within the window. The addon is called Autopager.

Auto Pager is darn useful when you do searches online. As you reach the end of the page you will be loading the next results in the same page. So, you just need to scroll down through the search results.

How To Use This?

This is just like Greasemonkey or TwitterFox addon. It sits in the status bar. You can enable or disable by clicking on it (the same way you do in Greasemonkey). When you visit a search engine for the first time, it will ask with a pop-up, whether to enable or disable this site from auto paging. For example, check this picture (click to enlarge).

auto_pager

Note: The auto paging will work only if someone has created a auto paging setting for a webpage. I tried for the three popular search engines, Google, Yahoo! and Bing and all of them have the auto paging feature.

If you want to create auto pager for your own webpages, then go through this tutorial on their home site.

This is how it loads new pages. It works for normal Google search and also Google Image Search.

This is a highly recommended one. I know, even if I don’t tell you to, you will use it. It’s a great help while searching online.

Good News: Google Chrome users, don’t get dejected! This addon is even available for Google Chrome. Go ahead and download it here.

Google Password Decryptor Helps You Recover All Google Passwords

Google uses a centralized account for all its services. While this can be useful in a way, it is also equally troublesome. If you forget your Google account password, you cannot access other accounts, such as Youtube, Picasa or any other service provided by Google.

Google Password Decryptor serves the need here. This is a simple tool that helps you to recover all the Google account passwords within a fraction of a second. It can extract passwords from various Google applications. Some of them are listed below:

  • Google Talk
  • Google Picasa
  • Google Desktop Search
  • Gmail Notifier
  • Internet Explorer
  • Google Chrome

There is no need to install this application either. Just extract the files and start running it. All you need to do is click on a button that says ” Start Recovery” and it gives you the password list of all applications.

It also has a feature for exporting the password list either as an HTML document or a text document for future reference.

Nice little tool. No bad points with this. It meets expectations. It gives out the result too fast. A very needed tool for everyone. Did I mention anywhere that it is freeware? Yes, this is   freeware.

Google.mE is a java based application that helps you to synchronize your online Google world with your desktop. This java based application allows you to access  Google Contacts, Google Docs, YouTube profile, Picasa albums and Google Reader right from your desktop.

google_me_sync

To use this application, you need to provide your Google and ID. It takes a little time to sync your data. After syncing you can access your docs, videos and others from this application.

It has Google Docs, Contacts, RSS Feeds, Picasa and YouTube each arranged in separate tabs. Some of its features are:

  • You can upload or export files from Google Docs.
  • You can add new RSS Feeds to your reader or read existing RSS Feeds.
  • You can save photos from your Picasa albums or add photos to them from your computer.

Techie-Buzz Verdict:

This is a good little application. If you use lot of Google products like Google Reader, Docs and so on, then this is a great application to have. However, this application has a slackness. You cannot read the Google Docs directly from it. you need to download it and then view or edit it. This is a minus point. Overall, an average application.

How To Copy Selected Text Automatically In Firefox

Earlier this month, we had discussed about an extension for Google Chrome that will help you to automatically copy selected text- Auto Copy. Today, I am going to discuss about the same trick in Firefox.

This is an about:config tweak. To open the preference editor of your browser, direct your cursor to the address bar and type “about:config”. A warning message will appear like this – “This might vide your warranty!”. Ignore the message and enter the editor.

firefox_copy_text
firefox_copy_text

In the filter box, type the following text- “copy”. You will get a preference named clipboard.autocopy. Change the value of that preference from “False” to “True” by double-clicking or right clicking on it. You are done!

I also found a good addon which does the same job. If you think it is risky to edit the preferences you can try this too! – AutoCopy

Many of us use heavy applications for maintaining our PC registry issues, start-up program list and so on. These heavy applications themselves sometimes cause trouble with the PC. If you are searching for a simple tool that can help you to do these jobs, Mr.Fix is for you!

Mr.Fix is a freeware tool. This is a registry cleaner that helps you to fix your registry issues in a single click. Apart from registry cleaning, it also has some other interesting features that are worth looking at.

mr_fix
mr_fix

Features:

As the name says, it’s main objective is to scan for issues/errors in the registry. It gives you a list of corrupted keys and entries in your registry. You can select the errors you want to fix and click “Fix Now”.

Another good feature in this application is it’s built-in uninstaller through which you can uninstall the applications installed on your PC and keep it clean.

Apart from these, it has start-up manager by the help of which you can monitor the processes which run in the start-up. You can also add some tweaks, like hiding the programs list in the start menu, hiding the shutdown button and so on!

Techie-Buzz Verdict

If you are using some big heavy apps for normal day-to-day registry cleaning, then this is a good substitute for that. It only occupies around 1.6MB of your disk space! Overall, keeping in mind many factors like interface and efficiency, this tool can be given a average rating.

Create Own Photocards And Send To Your Beloved Ones This Christmas

Festive season is on! I am sure many of you are looking for creative ways to wish your beloved ones. If so, here is a tool that might help you wish your beloved ones.

Photo Card Maker is a freeware that helps you to create personalized greeting cards for different occasions such as New year, Christmas and so on. You can write your own message and add your own photo to the cards and send it to your beloved ones.

photo_card_maker
photo_card_maker

Using this tool is very simple. All you need to do is select a template from a gallery of 32-35 templates. (If you want more templates,   you can even visit the official website. It has some new christmas templates). After selecting a suitable template, add your desired photos and edit the greeting message. Save it and send it to your beloved ones!

Techie-Buzz Verdict

This tool could have been a lot more better. At the first look, I thought it has some amazing features. I was expecting auto-fitting of photos in the frames. That feature was missing. It would really look awkward if you had a square/rectangular photo inside a circular frame! So, a point goes down here.

Another feature I was expecting from this is that it could have had a “Send Greeting” option integrated in itself. But, now you need to save it and send it seperately.

However, it has got an average collection of themes. It has templates for various occasions such as Sports, Christmas, Cartoon, Love and so on. You can even download the latest ones from its website.

Mount Folders As Virtual Drives Using Virtual Drives Manager

If you are a regular reader of Techie-Buzz, you might remember that we had reviewed a freeware, with which you can mount folders as virtual drives (Virtual Subst). Today, we have found another useful freeware that you can use for mounting folders as drives. If you are wondering how this tool can be helpful, check the previous post that is linked above.

Virtual Drives Manager is a really simple tool. It has a very minimal interface. All you need to do is, select a folder> click on “Create Virtual Drive”. It will make the selected folder as a drive!

Here is a screenshot of how it looks.

This small application doesn’t need any installation. You just need to extract the RAR file and start using it.

Create Multiple Screenshots Of A Video Using SceneGrabber

SceneGrabber.NET is a windows application that helps you to easily create screenshots of your desired video. As the name goes, it is based on the Microsoft.NET framework. The application’s main objective is to create multiple screenshots of a video.

Where Can It Be Useful?

  • If you are uploading any movie to the torrents, then you could use this application to create multiple screenshots and upload it.
  • Personal videos can be converted into photos.

By default, this application is set to take 30 screenshots of the whole video. However, this can be changed based on the user’s desire. If the number of screenshots is set for 30, then it divides the total lenth of the video into 30 parts and grabs a screenshot of each.

screengrabber

This has two options. Either you can capture one single screenshot or you can capture multiple screenshots of a video. After capturing the screenshots, you can sort out the photos you want and remove others.

The captured screenshots are combined to a single page and are processed as a single image. The width, height and resolution of the screenshots are all user-defined.

Techie-Buzz Verdict

You can convert a video into multiple screenshots with a single click. As I said earlier in the post, this is useful when you want to post screenshots of a movie, or even convert videos into photos.

On the other hand, instead of processing the screenshots as a single image, processing them as invidual pictures would have been an better and expected feature.

Avast!, a run-time antivirus software is a darling for many of the internet users! If you are an Avast! user, you might be in really good company  since Avast has over 100 Million users.

After achieving those big numbers, Avast has now decided to pair up with Google Chrome to bring you a fast and secure browser along with a widely used Antivirus solution.  This would be implemented from mid-November of the coming year (2010) along with its new release of version 5.

The users who install the new version of Avast! will be notified (or more exactly recommended) to install Google Chrome browser along with it, provided the computer doesn’t have Google Chrome. The Avast! blog states,

Personally, I think Google Chrome is an exciting new browser. As you can see below it is very clean—a single menu bar and a combined search/url entry window.   It also launches very fast, its source code is open source, and most important for Avast users, it has some real neat features that complement the Avast security.

With his words, the CEO of the Avast! makes it clear that he is a fan of Google Chrome browser like many others. A Google spokesman commented about the agreement.

Users’ response to Google Chrome has been outstanding, and we’re continuing to explore ways to make Chrome accessible to even more people. This could potentially include distribution via a number of channels, such as the distribution we are currently doing with Avast.
