The iPad is one of the best things to happen to guitarists since the locking tremolo bar. There are some great iPad apps on the market that can help any guitarist play and sound better, with more coming out all the time. Tuners, effects, amps, lessons – everything you need to become a great guitar player can now be downloaded straight to your iPad.

NOTE: To use some of these apps, you’ll need to get an adapter so you can plug your guitar into the iPad.

GUITARIST’S REFERENCE

    But there is so much bulk. Why are we funding this stuff?
    The guitar codex (http://microtools.de/guitarcodex/) is just one example that has been available online and for download for free for years. Now we’re amazed and paying for apps that are completely redundant just because Apple’s walled garden encourages this situation?
    There’s lots of similar examples…
