Yesterday, Steve Jobs resigned as Apple’s CEO from his day to day duties with the Cupertino technology company and appointed Tim Cook as Apple’s new CEO. Following his ascension, Tim Cook today sent out a company-wide email assuring employees that nothing will change at Apple.
The email from Cook, obtained by Ars Technica, says that he aims to address any concerns that employees might have about the trasition. Cook also said that Apple is not going to change.
“I want you to be confident that Apple is not going to change.” – Tim Cook
He said that the company has been built by Steve Jobs, and has a “culture that is unlike any in the world.” Cook promised that Apple will “stay true to that,” because it’s in the company’s DNA.
“I am confident our best years lie ahead of us and that together we will continue to make Apple the magical place that it is.” – Tim Cook
Tim Cook has worked for Apple and with Jobs for over 13 years. He is known to be an operational genius who may lack the charisma and vision of Jobs, but many say he can keep the company headed in the right direction.
Analysts have expressed concern over Apple’s future in short-term with Cook. In addition, they view the transition as a change years in the making, with Apple’s executives being prepared for a new era without Jobs as CEO.
