Early this morning two of the most popular social networking sites Twitter & Facebook along with Live Journal became victims of a Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attack.

This by far crippled twitter and brought Facebook to a crawl with users of both these social networking sites facing severe difficulties while accessing them, however the attack is a serious cause of concern for both these sites and even others and needs to be investigated thoroughly.

Mashable is reporting that Google, Facebook & Twitter are working together to investigate the root cause of this attack.

Google being one of the most visited sites on the internet must have quite a bit of knowledge with dealing and thwarting such attacks, so their help would definitely help both these social networking sites to figure out the problem quickly.
