Last week, the talented developers over at XDA forums had managed to port the beta Xperia Arc S Ice Cream Sandwich ROM to the Nexus S. Today, the developers at XDA have gone to the next level, and have managed to port the beta Xperia Arc S Ice Cream Sandwich ROM to the latest Nexus handset from Google, the Galaxy Nexus!
The custom ROM – GNexusTimeScape – brings with it Android 4.0.3 and the latest goodies from Sony to the Galaxy Nexus, including the company’s popular Timescape and Mediascape UI. The 1st beta of the ROM went up earlier today, so there are still some issues and bugs with the ROM.
Below is a list of what works and what does not work on the ROM at the moment -:
Working
Sound
RIL (Calls, SMS & Data)
HW Acc
Storage
Sensors
Vibration
BluetoothNot Working
- WiFi
- NavBar (Button Saviour for now)
- Camera
While the Camera and Wi-Fi not working issues might be a deal breaker for many, I am sure the developer will fix these issues in the next few beta releases. Interested Galaxy Nexus owners can find the download link and more information about the ROM here.
