There are quite a apps in the Android Market which allow users to tether their phone’s 3G or 4G connection with their laptop or other devices. However, most of these apps require root access or have been pulled off from the Android Market, thanks to the evil carriers in the States.
Now, Koush, the developer behind the popular ROM Manager, has released a new app in the Android Market known as ‘Tether by ClockworkMod’. Unlike all other Tethering apps in the Market, Tether from Koush does not require root access or a subscription to a tethering plan. It is also completely undetected by your carrier, so your carrier will never know that you are using your phone for tethering purposes.
The app is also very easy to setup. Just download and install the Tether app on your phone. Then install and run the Tether setup for Windows, Linux Or Mac, depending on the OS you use. The installer will automatically install all the required drivers for you as well.
While Tether can be downloaded for free from the Android Market, it has a 14-day trial limit. After that, users can only use Tether for data usage of up to 20MB.
