The Galaxy S is one of the most popular Android handsets in the Android modding community. The phone is nearly 2 years old, and yet the developer support for the phone refuses to die down. The handset has a usable Ice Cream Sandwich port, tons of custom kernels and quite a few other handy mods like BLN.
Now, thanks to the hard work of a developer – sztupy – Galaxy S users can also enjoy USB O-T-G functionality on their handset. For the unknowing, USB O-T-G means you can directly connect a pen drive or any other mass storage device via the OTG adapter to your phone and transfer files to and fro.

Considering only the Galaxy S II, Galaxy R and Galaxy Nexus support OTG, a 2010 handset getting support for the same feature via a mod is quite a big deal.
The USB Host/OTG mod for the Galaxy S will only work on the Ice Cream Sandwich based ROM released by Teamhacksung, since sztupy has based his custom kernel on the ROM’s stock kernel. Interested Galaxy S owners can find more information about USB Host/OTG functionality on their phone here.
