Reloaded ICS Brings More Customization Options To CM9 Including Themes!
By on April 23rd, 2012

CyanogenMod 9 is still in Alpha stage for the majority of the devices. The CM team is busy in getting a stable Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich base for all the popular Android devices before adding new features on top of it. Due to this, CM9 as of now feels like stock ICS with just a few tweaks. This has even led to the development and popularity of other ROMs like AOKP, which are based on CM9 but provide more customization options.

One developer over at XDA – rob43 – could not wait for the CM team to add some customization features in CM9, and took matters in his own hands. This led to the birth of ‘Reloaded ICS’ for CM9 ROMs. This new mod will bring a bunch of new features including the option to customize the status bar layout, date format, brightness control, an enhanced power widget, tabbed toggles option in notification bar, the ability to change the status bar location to the bottom of the screen, theme it and much more.

However, one of the major reasons why I would suggest every Galaxy Nexus owner running CM9 on his handset to flash Reloaded ICS is because it allows for navigation bar customization. As a Galaxy Nexus owner, the only reason why I don’t use CM9 is because of the lack of navigation bar customization. It absolutely boggles my mind that the CM team still has not merged the navigation bar customization patch into the main CM repository. Well, until CM team does that, Reloaded ICS to the resuce.

Reloaded ICS works on any Android handset running a de-odexed CM9 ROM. Readers can find more information along with download links over at XDA forums.
