HTC Sensation Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich Based ROM With Sense 3.5 Leaks
By on December 21st, 2011
What a month December has been so far! First an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based ROM leaked for the Galaxy S2, and then Sony Ericsson itself released an Alpha Ice Cream Sandwich ROM for some Xperia handsets, and lastly, Google started rolling out the official Ice Cream Sandwich OTA update for the Nexus S.Now, one developer over at XDA forums has managed to get his hands on an RUU (firmware file) for the Sensation and the Sensation XE, which is based on Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Sense 3.5 running on top of it. The RUU leak comes directly from HTC, but the developer has added a few tweaks so as to keep the guy who leaked the ROM safe.

Due to Sense 3.5, Sensation owners won’t get to enjoy the new Ice Cream Sandwich launcher, the new lock screen in Ice Cream Sandwich and a few other goodies. Thankfully, HTC has still included one of the most highlighted feature of Ice Cream Sandwich, Face Unlock. Early adopters are reporting that most of the key features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and most importantly H/W acceleration are working just fine.
The ROM is compatible with the Sensation as well the Sensation XE. Only Rooted HTC Sensation and Sensation XE owners can install this ROM. The ROM can be downloaded from here. You can refer to our generic ROM installation guide to install this ROM. Please keep in mind that the first boot of this ROM takes quite a long time.
