Get WP7 Like Multi-tasking UI On Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S
By on April 17th, 2012

The revamped recent app menu switching UI in Ice Cream Sandwich is definitely one of the best UI changes introduced by Google in Android 4.0. The ability to swipe and remove an app from the recent app menu is extremely useful as well. Microsoft’s budding mobile OS – Windows Phone – also has a similar implementation of the app switching UI. The multi-task switching UI in Windows Phone shows up to a maximum of five apps in a horizontal view, compared to the vertical view in Ice Cream Sandwich.

Now, one developer over at XDA has ported the WP7 style multi-tasking switcher to the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S handsets. At the moment, the mod only works on the Milestone 4 build of AOKP ROM for the Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S, and is not compatible with any other ROM.

Below is a video of the mod in action on the Nexus S -:

The developer has also uploaded the stock system files, in case users feel like reverting back to the original ICS like layout. Interested Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S owners should head over to this and this thread, respectively for more information and download links.
