CyanogenMod ROM Now Has More Than 1 Million Users!
By on January 12th, 2012
CyanogenMod is without a doubt the most popular AOSP based custom ROM for Android devices out there. It is also the largest custom ROM out there, with support for more than 60 devices from various manufacturers. This is more than the number of devices supported by all other Android handset manufacturers collectively!
Now, the CM team can add one more achievement under their belt – There are now more than 1 million CyanogenMod custom ROM users all over this world! The CM Stats tracker does not include custom ROMs which are based on CM sources or the ROM itself, otherwise the number would have been much higher.
This also proves that the Android modding community is growing more and more popular with every passing day, and Android device manufacturers will literally shoot themselves in the foot if they ignore them (Hint: Motorola).

The CyanogenMod team is already working hard on releasing the next major version version of CyanogenMod ROM based on Ice Cream Sandwich – CM9.

Steve Kondik, also known as Cyanogen, who released the first CyanogenMod ROM for the G1 must be a very happy man today!

Kudos to the CyanogenMod team for all their hard work!
