Post the release of CM9.2, the CM team has been working hard on bringing CM10 to a variety of devices. Slowly and steadily, the ‘official’ CM10 nightlies have started rolling out for quite a few devices. The CM team has already added most of the CM9 features to CM10, and have been working on adding new features to CM10 that take advantage of the new APIs and features introduced in Jelly Bean.
The CM team has recently added a new feature to its CM10 nightly builds — Native Quick Messages. Now, when you receive a new SMS, a dialog box will pop-up on your screen allowing you to reply to that message or simply delete/dismiss the message without opening the Messaging application.
If the pop-up is too much for you, users can disable it and instead, use the ‘Quick Reply’ feature from the notification bar to reply to a text message.
Frankly, the ability to either Call a contact or quickly reply to a text message right from the notification bar is something, which Google should have included, in the stock Messaging app.
The feature was only recently added to the official CM10 nightly builds so it is still a bit rough around the edges. The CyanogenMod team is also taking feedback regarding this new feature on its G+ page, so feel free to give your suggestions or any bug reports.
