Android 4.1 Jelly Bean Ported To Nexus S
By on June 29th, 2012

It has been nearly a day since Google announced Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and rolled out a preview build as an OTA update for all the Galaxy Nexus given to the I/O attendes. Yet, in just a matter of hours, Jelly Bean was ported to all other non-I/O variant and CDMA variants of the Galaxy Nexii, along with the HTC One X.

The Nexus S and Motorola XOOM will be getting the official Jelly Bean OTA update sometime post mid-July as well. However, if you own a Nexus S and cannot wait for the official Jelly Bean update to land, the developers over at XDA have you covered. DaXmax has successfully managed to port Jelly Bean on the Nexus S. The bad news is that still quite a few basic features like Audio, Wi-Fi, and GSM network connection don’t work, but at least Nexus S owners will be able to get a taste of Jelly Bean before the official OTA lands.

Interested Nexus S owners should head over to this thread over at XDA forums for the download link and a list of what works and what does not.
